Wisconsin is called the Dairy State. It’s amazing how many people know this. But do you know why?
Before Wisconsin even became a state, immigrants were taking full advantage of the perfect grazing conditions offered here. Cows love it here. They eat a balanced diet. They flourish. And, they produce great milk. Great cheese can only be made with great milk. And that’s why over a quarter of all the cheese made in America comes from our “Dairy State.”
In 1994 there were 29,000 family dairy farms in Wisconsin. Today there are only 5,661 remaining. This is a result of the world market for milk being depressed for years. A very important part of our way of life is disappearing.
For the last several years, a Wisconsin dairy family has left the business every day.
Your Adopt a Cow, Save a Farmer order includes two shipments, each includes six different cheeses for a total of SIX POUNDS of the finest Wisconsin Cheese.
That's enough cheese to keep a Single Wisconsin Cow milking for One Day!
And, for every order, we will donate $5 to the Future Farmers of America to help the way of life continue.
